The Edge starts as the smallest in Ford's SUV lineup, with seating for five. It comes with two engine options - the 2.7L EcoBoost®, providing 335 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque while offering 24 mpg highway. With the Class II Trailer Tow Package, it has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. Inside, there's 39.2 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second row, and the SYNC® 3 infotainment system, available on all Ford SUVs. Ford also offers a host of available safety features on all its SUVs, including Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The standard rearview camera also comes with a washer feature to keep the lens clean.


With seating for five and 68 cubic feet of total cargo space, the Escape is the next step up. Three engine options include a standard 168 horsepower 2.5L I-4 that gets 29 mpg highway, the 1.5L EcoBoost® with 30 mpg highway, and the 245 horsepower 2.0L EcoBoost, which earns an EPA-estimated 29 mpg highway.* Curve Control helps slow the vehicle down using throttle reduction and anti-lock braking on fast turns and the standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ uses two gyroscopic sensors to help maintain control whenever there is wheelslip, understeer, oversteer or roll motion.


Seating grows to seven with 81.7 cubic feet of total cargo space and the available PowerFold® third-row seats. The Explorer comes with three engine options, including the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost® turbo generating best-in-class 365 horsepower plus 350 lb.-ft. of torque. When properly equipped with Class II or III Towing Package, the Explorer can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The Terrain Management System™ comes with the available Intelligent 4WD System, which allows better shifting through mud, sand, gravel, grass or snow.


The Flex also has seating for seven and the 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 generating 290 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. Inside, it has 83.2 cubic feet of total cargo space. Perks include heated side mirrors, Rain-Sensing Front Wipers, the available Active Park Assist, and a power liftgate.


Boasting eight seats and 121.5 cubic feet of cargo space, the Expedition is the largest Ford SUV. Its standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine delivers 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, giving it a best-in-class towing capacity of 9,300 pounds when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. With Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, the turn of a dial aids in reversing a trailer. The FX4 off-road edition features elements like an electronic limited-slip differential, premium off-road shocks, underbody fuel tank protection, skid plates, and all-terrain OWL tires.
